Do you want to learn more about safe boating and have fun while doing it? That's one of the goals of Beaufort Sail & Power Squadron. We are America's Boating Club of Beaufort with activities for the whole family. We conduct cruises throughout the year to various locations on the water in our area. Every month we meet at a local restaurant for socializing and recognition of members. We would love to have you join us whether you have a boat or not. We offer the America's Boating Course several times a year and enrollment is open to any interested boaters. This course teaches the basics of recreational boating and gives you confidence to operate your boat safely. Welcome to the home of the Durham Sail & Power Squadron a unit of the United States Power Squadrons®, a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable through education and camaraderie, originally founded in 1914. The Durham Sail & Power Squadron was founded in 1961. Our members are primarily located in Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina, but some come from further away. Our member meetings are held at Bennett Pointe Grill & Bar. We perform community service by offering boating safety courses to boaters in our communities. We also conduct courtesy Vessel Safety Checks at the request of owners. We also enjoy each other's company through participation in various outings, meetings, and volunteer work.
