Threatened with scrappage, the Clyde Maritime Trust bought the ship with an ambitious restoration plan in 1993, which has enabled a new life for the ship in Glasgow. • The East Indiaman Götheborg The East Indiaman Götheborg
A magnificent 18th century ship made from oak and pine. She will be an exact replica of an historical ship as regards line, hull and rigging. Good stories are worth hearing again, particularly the story of the Swedish Ship Götheborg. The wealthy Svenska Ostindiska Companiet (Swedish East India Company) was formed in 1731 and ceased trading in 1813. Just over 175 years later, the story of the company and the ship are being retold. Today the Swedish Ship Götheborg is very much a reality, and the largest sailing wooden ship in the world. Totally unique, and an arena for showing Sweden's cultural and business life to the world. • The Nina & Pinta - Sanger Ships LLC The Nina & Pinta - Sanger Ships LLC
Welcome to Sanger Ships LLC and our two Columbus replica ships - our original Niña, the most historically accurate replica of a Columbus Ship ever built, and our newer Pinta. The Niña is a replica of the ship on which Columbus sailed across the Atlantic on his three voyages of discovery to the new world beginning in 1492. Columbus sailed the tiny ship over 25,000 miles. That ship was last heard of in 1501, but the new Niña has a different mission. We are a floating museum, and we visit ports all over the Western Hemisphere. Pinta was recently built in Brazil to accompany the Nina on all of her travels. She is a larger version of the archetypal caravel and offers larger deck space for walk-aboard tours and has a 40 ft air conditioned main cabin down below with seating. Pinta is available for private parties and charters. Tortola, British Virgin Islands

  • U.S. Coast Guard Barque Eagle U.S. Coast Guard Barque Eagle
The 295-foot Barque Eagle is the flagship of the U.S. Coast Guard. She serves as a training vessel for cadets at the Coast Guard Academy and candidates from the Officer Candidate School. The Eagle is the only active-duty sailing vessel in America's military, and one of only two commissioned sailing vessels, along with the USS Constitution. EAGLE, the largest Tall Ship flying the Stars and Stripes and the only square-rigger in U.S. government service, is the seventh U.S. Coast Guard cutter to bear the name in a proud line dating back to 1792. Built at the Blohm + Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany in 1936, and commissioned as Horst Wessel, Eagle is one of three sail-training ships operated by the pre-World War II German navy. At the close of the war, the ship was taken as a war reparation by the U.S., re-commissioned as the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle and sailed to New London, Connecticut, which has been its homeport ever since. Eagle has offered generations of Coast Guard Academy cadets, and more recently officer candidates, an unparalleled leadership experience at sea.
