- Cruiser Olympia
Cruiser Olympia
The USS OLYMPIA was the flagship of the Asiatic Squadron. It is the only naval vessel from the American Spanish-American War fleet still in existence. OLYMPIA is one of the most significant vessels in United States history as she was the flagship of Commodore Dewey in his victory over Admiral Montojo's Spanish Squadron at Manila Bay. The United States took a large step towards becoming a world power with his victory. The USS OLYMPIA is permanently docked at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

- Flagship Niagara - U.S. Brig Niagara
Flagship Niagara - U.S. Brig Niagara
The U.S. Brig Niagara, home-ported in Erie, Pennsylvania, is a faithful reconstruction of Oliver Hazard Perry's relief flagship during the Battle of Lake Erie. An embodiment of the dual mission of the Erie Maritime Museum and Flagship Niagara League, she serves as the centerpiece exhibit of the Erie Maritime Museum as well as a sail training vessel, part of an experiential learning program to preserve the art of historic square-rig seamanship. Perhaps the original vessel's most pivotal hour came on September 10, 1813 at the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812. At the battle's climax, Oliver Hazard Perry transferred from his original flagship Lawrence to Niagara, raised his battle flag emblazoned with the words "Don't Give Up the Ship", and ordered the brig for "close action" – severing the British line and leading to the enemy's unconditional surrender. Operating both the U.S. Brig Niagara and the Schooner Lettie G Howard, we provide programs and experiences that range from a casual day sail around the Erie Bay Area to an immersive multi-week long sail training experience steeped in our region’s history. Inside the Canal Museum, visitors will find various artifacts and historical information from the canal era, including a replica of the Rufus S. Reed -- a typical canal boat. - National Canal Museum
National Canal Museum
The National Canal Museum is dedicated to telling the story of America's historic towpath canals. Easton's Hugh Moore Park is a picturesque extension of the City of Easton where America's golden age of canals is on full display. With more than two miles of restored Lehigh Canal, a canal boat attraction unlike any other in Pennsylvania and the rest of the Northeast, and one of the country's largest canal heritage museums, the 520-acre park nestled between the Lehigh Canal and Lehigh River is a throwback to the years when mules pulling canal boats on narrow towpaths was a common sight in much of the United States east of the Mississippi River. The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor interprets this fascinating period of American history in the park through tours of the National Canal Museum and rides on the 110-passenger Josiah White II canal boat. The National Canal Museum is open seasonally, from June until October. Explore our fun, hands-on exhibits highlighting 19th century canal life and technology. Easton, Pennsylvania

- Pennsylvania Canal Society
Pennsylvania Canal Society
Pennsylvania's canals were built during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The canals were dug by men whose tools were picks, shovels and wheelbarrows. Hard work, poor living conditions and disease took many lives. But it was these burly men and their "water highway" that began the industrial revolution and opened the northwest territory. The aim of the Society is to preserve the rich heritage of canaling in Pennsylvania; to promote the preservation and restoration of existing canal sites; to encourage canal research; and to make available to the public materials on canals, their operation and history.
