Waikato Yacht Squadron
Our first and foremost objective is to encourage and support safe family sailing - both cruising and racing. The Squadron began in 1968 as the Waikato Trailer Yacht Squadron and in 1990 changed its name to embrace a growing number of keel boat owners. Today it provides a club focus for around 80 boat owning members and their families and our first multihull yacht. - Waiuku Yacht club
Waiuku Yacht club
The Waiuku Yacht club was formed 12th November 1953. It was called the Franklin Yacht Club to distinguish it from the existing Franklin Boating Club which catered mainly for motorboats. As a small club we're very open to any class of boat joining our fleet, however joining one of the existing class fleets makes the most sense for the close racing, note sharing, spare parts and of course the banter. We also offer sailing lessons for juniors and adults. Waiuku, New Zealand

- Wellington Classic Yacht Trust
Wellington Classic Yacht Trust
WCYT is a registered charitable trust (CC49281) formed in 2010 dedicated to the preservation, restoration and above all, sailing of small vessels with a significant history to Wellington and the region. The Trust was initially set up to rescue the oldest surviving Wellington-built racing yacht, Lizzie from destruction. The yachts we aim to acquire in the name of the trust fall mostly under the Protected Objects Act 1975, which precludes their being sold overseas. Materials and construction methods, unique to New Zealand up to the early 20th century, resulted in vessels having a longer lifespan than envisaged by the original builders. As they fall into disrepair due to lack of upkeep, these beautiful vessels are often broken up and lost forever, depleting the richness of the region's heritage and that of New Zealand overall.
