Inspiring young sailors since 1960. The Salterns Sailing Club was founded in 1960 by Major Tony Hibbert with four objectives: To interest children in sailing, To teach children how to sail, To teach children how to race, To involve children in the running of the club: "A club run by children for children". A place where they can learn to enjoy sailing and gain experience sailing and racing dinghies such as Optimists, Moths, Scows and RS Teras. The club is run by volunteers, both junior and adult. The Club provides a unique opportunity for an interested young sailor to learn how to run a club as well as sail. The club has inspired generations of sailors including Olympic champions, national champions and many who have become life long sailors. Lymington, Hampshire, England, UK

- Saltfleet Haven Boat Club
Saltfleet Haven Boat Club
Saltfleet Haven, once called Saltfluet, Saltcoteholm, and up till 1356 it was called Saltfleetby, has been a port as long as man has occupied the fens of Lincolnshire and it has seen much trade. Salt was worked near the Haven back in the Iron Age but the original haven may have started near Rimac prior to the12th century. Salt and the local salt beds, as the name suggests has been important to Saltfleet for hundreds if not thousands of years. If you have joined the club but are a little put off by the sand bars and all the information on the pilot then we can help. We can take you out to show you the markers and the land marks, show you where to go and where not to go. It takes about an hour but the familiarisation course is probably well worth it. The Royal Engineer Yacht Club (REYC) was founded in 1846 in support of the water-based activities that mattered to the Royal Engineers in their professional capacity and that they enjoyed in their free time. As one of the oldest yacht clubs in the world the REYC has a distinguished history that includes entries in every Fastnet Race, and winning the first one, many ocean racing trophies, pivotal roles in the establishment of the Whitbread Around the World Race, many circumnavigations and an enduring commitment to introducing the challenges of sailing to serving soldiers. As a Service charity the REYC's charter focuses its activities on developing the watermanship skills of Royal Engineers while providing recreation, excitement, fun and personal development opportunities to all involved. The REYC is made up of Serving and Retired personnel from the Royal Engineers, or Sappers as we are often known. Today the REYC caters for all aspects of sailing from yacht racing to kite-surfing.
