  • Brean Landyacht Club Brean Landyacht Club
The earliest records of land yachting on Brean sands appear round 1920, when locals sailed for fun, having made yachts from the remains of World War 1 aircraft. 70 years later the Brean Land Yachting
Club is still going from strength to strength.
Since then Brean has produced many fine 'pilots'. Yes, that's what people who sail land yachts are called. It's not a surprising term really, as these wind driven chariots can get up to dizzying speeds. 60mph is not unknown!
Brean holds regular trial days in their fleet of training yachts. It's a great way to test the water before you commit to membership.
Based in the southwest of England, in Somerset's cider country within easy reach of junction 22 M5 motorway. Brean, England UK

The BCYC fulfils its aims by providing a congenial environment for owners and other classic yacht enthusiasts to share experiences and enjoy each other's company, thus developing close, personal relationships between people involved with these beautiful boats. • Castle Cove Sailing Club Castle Cove Sailing Club
Castle Cove Sailing Club is an active and friendly, family club located on the north shore of Portland Harbour. From small beginnings in a cliff-top chalet in 1923, we have grown steadily and in September 2002 we moved to our present site at the end of Old Castle Road, Weymouth. We now have over 450 memberships with members of all ages who race and cruise in a variety of dinghies and keelboats. Members have worked hard to provide a wide range of excellent facilities: a large dinghy park, moorings for the keelboats and ashore, a comfortable, well-appointed clubhouse and bar.
