Based in Beaumaris, North Wales, we are a sailing and cruising club with a lively program of sailing weekends, events and socials. The North West Venturers Yacht Club, founded over 50 years ago, has always been a 'family' club - more interested in BBQ's on the beach at the end of a day’s cruise than Kevlar sails and protest flags. Our constitutional Aims talk about fostering good seamanship, training members (both newcomers to the sport and those who know that there is always something to learn) and 'sailing in company'. Most weekends during the season the Programme includes a cruise - often with a party at the destination for kids of all ages. Longer cruises give members the opportunity to cruise in company to unfamiliar harbours and anchorages. The occasional race is designed more to improve boat handling skills under sail than secure trophies - though we do have a few of those! Anglesey, North Wales, UK

  • Royal Welsh Yacht Club Royal Welsh Yacht Club
Set within the medieval walled town of Caernarfon, Porth yr Aur is the oldest yacht club premises in the world. Its unique position offers breath-taking views over the Menai Strait and the old town. Its association with the sea and sailing and the culture and heritage that have developed in their wake are as alive and relevant today as they ever were. Over the centuries numerous events have shaped the colourful tapestry of its history from an early Welsh rebellion to the splendour and pageantry of the Victorian Regattas and the present-day renovation of the site and building. From the onset its founders and members have contributed to its success and have achieved great personal seafaring accomplishments of which we are justifiably proud. Today the Royal Welsh Yacht Club is a vibrant establishment with a varied programme of sailing and rowing events and social gatherings. Why not join us to sample the welcome, and learn more about the fascinating history of this most magical of places and the people that have graced it with their presence. • Saundersfoot Sailing Club Saundersfoot Sailing Club
Saundersfoot is a small seaside holiday village in West Wales with picturesque scenery, an excellent beach and ample parking. The sailing waters within Saundersfoot Bay attract many sailors and regattas are always well supported. The club encourages all forms of watersport but it is dinghy and cruiser sailing that forms the major part of our on the water activity, although recently we have developed a strong association with Wiseman' Bridge Rowing Club, who have a busy schedule in Celtic longboats throughout the summer. The club has a full dinghy sailing programme with the season running from April to October each year. To encourage new members to the sport of dinghy sailing the club has an active sail training scheme which is run in accordance with the Royal Yachting Association who are the governing body of the sport in the UK. Cruiser sailing activity is based more on cruising than racing although regular races are held with our neighbouring club Tenby Sailing Club and we also hold a cruiser regatta.
