The Corinthian Sailing Association of Lake Pontchartrain was established in 1983 as a non-profit club by a group of avid sailors, whose principal purpose was to provide a low-cost venue for racing sailboats on Lake Pontchartrain. The Shreveport Yacht Club is located on the south shore of beautiful Cross Lake in Shreveport, Louisiana. Cross Lake covers approximately 8,576 acres and has 70 plus miles of shoreline. The lake provides the water supply for the City of Shreveport. Bald cypress trees line the banks and the lake is popular for recreational boating, fishing and hunting. Established in 1927 as the Shreveport Boat Club, the Club is proud to be part of the long and rich history of the city of Shreveport. The Club is located on over fifteen acres of prime Cross Lake shoreline and is dedicated to providing our membership with the best of all worlds. Our facilities include the Clubhouse, with a large dining room offering a full menu and weekly chef’s specials along with a full service bar. Members may rent the facilities to host parties and weddings. We also have covered and uncovered outdoor seating areas for nicer weather. Traces its roots to the Gulf Coast resort of Pass Christian, Mississippi and to the year 1849, making it the second oldest yacht club in the United States. Over the years, Southern Yacht Club has hosted U.S. Presidents, been an important venue for early jazz pioneers, and offered up its clubhouse for Naval operations during World War II.
