- Beaverton Sail & Power Squadron
Beaverton Sail & Power Squadron
Beaverton Sail & Power Squadron was chartered in 1975 in Oregon’s District 32 as an offshoot of the Portland Power Squadron and currently has approximately 75 members. Member education is stressed. Each year a variety of courses are offered to members ranging from Seamanship to Celestial Navigation as well as elective courses such as Engine Maintenance, Sail, Marine Electronics, Cruise Planning, and Weather. The Beaverton Sail & Power Squadron offers the Basic Boating Course to the public at least twice annually. In addition, members of the squadron participate in Cooperative Charting activities reporting chart corrections and additions to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. These changes assist in keeping charts up-to-date for other mariners. Other members can provide a Vessel Safety Check, which is sanctioned by the United States Coast Guard, so that you can know that your boat complies with the recommended safety standards for recreational boats. Opportunities abound for members to enjoy the friendship, camaraderie, and sharing of boating experiences with fellow members. Activities and cruises are planned for one each month. Social affairs are a regular part of the calendar with both on-water and off-water events. Beaverton, Oregon

- Island Sailing School & Club
Island Sailing School & Club
Sailing classes & training for beginner through advanced sailors. Island Sailing School was founded in 1979 by Northwest sailors inspired to learn, explore and have fun sailing. They taught others to sail, more sailors joined and humble inspiration became a passion to create the Northwest’s best sailing school and club. What worked then, still works today: experienced instructors train students to the highest standards, sailors join our club to sail affordably, the fleet has grown, and we sail out of four NW locations. We’re inspired to learn, passionate about sailing and creating the best programs available for beginner and salty Northwest sailors. NOTS Boating Club
Our name says who we are; a boating club. In June 1958, Dick Millison conceived the idea of a club for mobile boaters who wanted to cruise in the company of others. Since that beginning, some of the boats have gotten bigger and the name was changed to NOTS Boating Club in 2010, but the same spirit of adventure and love of boating remains. Portland, Oregon

- RiversWest Small Craft Center
RiversWest Small Craft Center
Since 1991, RiversWest Small Craft Center has been promoting the use of sustainable, beautiful boats built to operate on the human scale. For some of our members, that means restoring historically correct wooden boats. For others, it is a chance to design and build with the support and input of a like-minded group. Many enjoy the camaraderie of “messing about” on the water. We all benefit from the chance to learn from one another. We are often inspired to get our hands busy building, paddling, rowing, motoring or sailing small craft. To do this, we maintain a shop with building space available for members, and woodworking tools available for use. We have a library with books and journals about boat building, boating in general, and many sets of plans. Also, many of our members enjoy the chance to pass on the oral tradition of building and using small craft. Portland, Oregon
