The Captain's Association of Missouri is a professional not for profit 501c (3) organization for Coast Guard-licensed captains who operate primarily on Lake of the Ozarks and Waters of the state of Missouri, and serve the maritime public. Captain's Association of Missouri seeks to promote safety, education and good fellowship between operators and, The Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council, the United States Coast Guard, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Patrol Division. The Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council was formed in 2007 with the mission of promoting water safety here at Lake of the Ozarks. Specifically, we promote wearing life jackets and designating captains while recreating on the Lake of the Ozarks. Our mission is simple: We want to keep our Lake safe. We want everyone to wear life jackets, designate a captain, and come and enjoy the Lake and all it has to offer in the safest manner possible. The safety on our Lake is imperative to our residents and to our visitors. We want our visitors to be able to share their happy, positive experiences from their time at Lake of the Ozarks, go back home and encourage others to do the same. Wildlife is abundant along the shoreline and varies depending on the time of year you visit. Stockton is the perfect family lake. There is something for everyone. Water-skiers and wake boarders can usually find a protected cove through the day and always in the evening. Fishing is great, Stockton has become one of the best walleye fishing lakes in the Midwest. Stockton Lake is rated one of the top 10 sailing lakes in the United States. Steady breezes and open water make for great runs up and down the lake.
