The Greater Upper Valley of Trout Unlimited (GUVTU) seeks to support cold water conservation and education projects that address the needs of native and wild trout following Trout Unlimited’s protect, reconnect, restore, and sustain conservation model. Projects focused on the Greater Upper Valley of Trout Unlimited watershed and that impact Brook Trout are preferred. The Greater Upper Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited (#226) has operated continuously since its founding in 1969. The Chapter operates as an educational and charitable 501c(3) organization covering a wide geographic area of Vermont and adjacent New Hampshire. Chapter members meet regularly throughout the year, mixing food, fun and fishing with educational programs and conservation projects. The Rutland B.A.S.S. Club is Vermont's newest and smallest Bassmaster-affiliated bass fishing club. Based in Rutland, Vermont, we are lucky to have some of the best bass fisheries in the state on our doorstep. Lake Bomoseen, Lake St. Catherine, Lake Hortonia, and Lake Dunmore are all close by, and Lake Champlain, one of the top bass fishing destinations in the country, is our home water. Rutland, Vermont

Whether you’ve always lived in Southwestern Vermont or just visit for the great fishing, we invite you to join our effort to keep our home waters and local fish healthy. Trout Unlimited’s mission is to conserve, protect and restore North America’s trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. Locally, in our southwestern corner of Vermont, we aim to do that at a grassroots level by organizing a community to get together and discuss the issues affecting our local fish habitats. We educate ourselves and the general public about trout conservation and act as a corps of volunteers when it comes to cleaning up our rivers and streams. We enjoy the dirty work of rolling up our sleeves, donning waders, and working with other groups for the betterment of our precious home waters.
