CUGA, Canadian Underwater Games Association, was founded in 1984, and became the sole Canadian representative for underwater sports to CMAS, the international underwater games governing body. The objective of the game is to carry a weighted ball from your own side of the pool to the goal line on the other side, while being completely submerged. You can go up for air; however, while you have the ball, no part of your body may be above the surface. To make it more challenging to accomplish your goal, you have to avoid the other team. They will tackle you and try to snatch the ball away and score on your goal.
